The Broadway star Patti LuPone is currently playing Joanne in the Stephen Sondheim's Company at the Gielgud until March 30th. But before leaving the UK she will launch Sunday Encounters at the Haymarket, a series of special events at the Theatre Royal Haymarket. developed by producers at Fane Productions
LuPone will be in conversation with broadcaster Edward Seckerson on the evening of March 10th. A week later there’s an afternoon show planned called Gosh, It’s Judi Dench in aid of Great Ormond Street Hospital featuring the award-winning actress in conversation with Gyles Brandreth .
Other Sunday Encounters at the Haymarket will feature actor Charles Dance; singer Kerry Ellis; composer Jason Robert Brown, Anne Reid is to interview Derek Jacobi and Patricia Routledge talks about a Life in Muical thetre on 5th May, writer Michael Morpurgo, Misha Glenny, Carlos Acosta and Mike Parkinson Jr and Simon Schama.
The Stephen Sondheim Society Student Performer of the Year event will also come to the Haymarket his year.
LuPone commented: "I'm excited to launch the Fane Productions Sunday Encounters at the Haymarket season at the stunning Theatre Royal Haymarket. To appear at a theatre with such a rich theatrical history is a very happy way to end my time in London after several wonderful months in the West End with Company."
Dench said: "We had a lot of fun the last time we did this, so I'm looking forward to being with Gyles again, to being back at the beautiful Theatre Royal, Haymarket, and to supporting the Great Ormond Street Hospital."
