Casting announced for The Boy Friend at the Menier

Sandy Wilson's musical The Boy Friend will be revived at the Menier Chocolate Factory over Christmas, running  from 22nd November to 7th  March 2020, with an official opening night on 3rd December.
The cast includes Janie Dee as Madame DuBonnet,(the principal of the finishing school) Tiffany Graves as Hortense the French maid, Amara Okereke as the ingénue Polly (the poor little rich girl made famous by Julie Andrews on stage and Twiggy on screen), Adrian Edmondson and Issy van Randwyck as Lord and Lady Brockhurst, Dylan Mason as Tony the mystery messenger boy full of surprises, and Jack Butterworth as playboy Bobby Van Husen. Full casting will be announced shortly.

Jack Butterworth's most recent theatre credits include Hamilton (Victoria Palace Theatre), Billy Elliot (National tour) & Cats (London Palladium).

Janie Dee: recent theatre credits include Follies (National Theatre), Pinter at the Pinter (Harold Pinter Theatre), Blithe Spirit (Gielgud Theatre). Her television credits include Chimerica & Crashing.

Adrian Edmondson recent theatre credits include Twelfth Night (RSC) Vulcan 7 (UK tour) & Neville's Island (Duke of York's Theatre). Television credits include The Young Ones & Bottom. He has recently appeared in Star Wars: The Last Jedi.

Tiffany Graves  returns to the Menier Chocolate Factory after having appeared in Sweet Charity. Other theatre credits include The Wild Party (The Other Palace), The Producers (UK tour) & Chicago (Cambridge Theatre).

Dylan Mason  recent theatre credits include Harry Potter and the Cursed Child (Palace Theatre) & 42nd Street (Theatre Royal Drury Lane).

Amara Okereke  recent theatre credits include Les Miserables (Queen's Theatre) & Oklahoma (Chichester Festival Theatre).

Issy Van Randwyck recent theatre credits include Rough Crossing (UK tour), Fascinating Aida (International tour) & The Go Between (UK tour). She will be appearing in the upcoming film adaptation of Blithe Spirit.
