Get Up, Stand Up! Bob Marley musical to open at Lyric Theatre next May

Get Up, Stand Up! Bob Marley musical has moved its  West End premiere to 28th  May 2021, with an opening night on 16th  June 2021 at the Lyric Theatre on Shaftesbury Avenue.

It will star Arinzé Kene (Misty, Girl from the North Country) in the titular role, with further casting to be announced.

Based on the life of the iconic Jamaican musician the show is directed by Clint Dyer (Death of England: Delroy) with book by Lee Hall (Billy Eliott). The show follows Marley’s life as he evolved into becoming one of the greatest artists of the 20th century and will feature some of Marley’s iconic songs, including “No Woman, No Cry”, “Exodus”, “3 Little Birds” and “Get Up Stand Up”.

The show will also partner with the Black Ticket Project to offer 1000 free tickets – all to help foster cultural experiences for Black young people.
