Michael Ball, Hamilton, Les Mis plus musical supergroup The Cardinals to feature in BBC Proms in the Park

The line-up for this year's BBC Proms in the Park on Saturday 14 September, has just been announced.  It will feature a special tribute to Les MisĂ©rables with performances from three of the current concert production cast – Michael Ball, Shan Ako and Carrie Hope Fletcher, who will perform "I Dreamed A Dream", "On My Own" and "Stars", alongside a special appearance by Claude-Michel Schönberg

Ball will also present the night.

The concert will also feature the new musical supergroup Ramin Karimloo, Fletcher, Celinde Schoenmaker and Ben Forster  called The Cardinals  who will perform "Shallow" from A Star Is Born together.

Jon Robyns will perform "You'll Be Back" as a special Hamilton tribute, with  appearances from Barry Manilow, Chrissie Hynde, Jack Savoretti, Lighthouse Family and Gabrielle.

Further acts for the concert are still to be announced.

Barry Manilow to headline BBC Proms in the Park

It has just been announced that Barry Manilow is to headline BBC Proms in the Park on Saturday 14th September at Hyde Park, London.  The event will be compered by Michael Ball and Barry will be joined by founding member of The Pretenders Chrissie Hynde, English-Italian singer-songwriter Jack Savoretti,  90s British pop duo the Lighthouse Family, East London-born RnB and soul singer Gabrielle, operatic soprano Aida Garifullina, Rock Choir with the BBC Concert Orchestra conducted by  Richard Balcombe. Further line up announcements are still to  follow.

The show will be broadcast live on BBC Radio 2 as part of the world-famous Last Night of the Proms.

The Grammy award-winning singer Barry Manilow has a a career spanning more than 50 years, famous for global hits including  ‘Copacabana (At the Copa)’ (1978), ‘Mandy’ (1974) and ‘Can’t Smile Without You’ (1977), will headline Proms in the Park 2019.  Manilow has recorded and released 47 Top 40 singles, including 12 numbers ones, some of which he will bring to Hyde Park for a live performance alongside the BBC Concert Orchestra. He said: I am so excited to be coming back to London’s Hyde Park for Proms in the Park in September! I always love performing with the BBC Concert orchestra, so I know we’re all in for a wonderful time.
