FULL CAST CONFIRMED for the new London Palladium tour of JOSEPH

The new UK & Ireland tour of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat kicks off     at Manchester Opera House on 23rd March. As previously announced The Narrator is to be played by ALEXANDRA BURKE and LINZI HATELEY at select venues across the tour.

They will be reunited with JASON DONOVAN  – the original Joseph –now in the role of Pharaoh and
JAC YARROW will again wear the Dreamcoat, following his critically acclaimed professional stage debut in the iconic lead role The role of Pharaoh will be played by BOBBY WINDEBANK  at the venues across the tour where Jason Donovan does not perform. Bobby was part of the 2021 company when the show played the season at the London Palladium.

The full company includes Erica Jayne Alden, Shane Antony-whitely, Natalie Bennyworth, Jabari Braham, Ben Brooker, Gemma Buckingham, Thalia Burt, Meg Darcy, Alexander Day, Tyler Ephraim, Iván Fernández González, Zac Frieze, Matt Gibson, Will Hawksworth, Samuel John-Humphreys, Claire Lander, Abbie Platts, Nathan Rigg, Rochelle Sherona, Samantha Shuma, Sam Stones and Holly Willock.

2022 tour of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat

The London Palladium production of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat is confirmed to go on a tour of the UK next year.

Dates so far are  the Birmingham Hippodrome from 4th – 16th April and the Southampton Mayflower  from 19th – 23rd April 2022.

Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat now due to open at Palladium in 2021.

The West End return of the new  production of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat which was due to open his summer has been rescheduled to 2021.

Stars Jason Donovan and Jac Yarrow will return for the run, which is set to begin performances July 1st , 2021 at the London Palladium. Booking  reopens on 19th June 2020. Ticket holders for the original dates will be contacted to move their tickets to the new run.

Jason Donovan and Jac Yarrow returning to Joseph at the Palladium next Summer

News this morning is that Jason Donovan and Jac Yarrow will be returning to Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamboat at the Palladium next year for a limited 10-week season  from July 2nd  to September 6th  2020, with a gala night on 16th  July.

Jac, who made his professional stage debut in the iconic role,  returns alongside original Joseph star, Jason Donovan, who will also re-join the cast in the role of Pharaoh.

Donovan said of his return: "This year was an absolute joy. Joseph has such a special connection with its audience and it has a huge emotional connection for me. Quite simply the show is pure musical magic. To be able to lean on the past yet build something new for the role of Pharaoh is an opportunity that cannot be done just once, and for performer or audience member alike, it just doesn't get much better than the Palladium experience.''

Yarrow added: "Playing the iconic role of Joseph at its spiritual home, The Palladium, last summer was what I thought was a once-in-a-life-time opportunity. When I was asked to step back into the Dreamcoat for a second time, I couldn't quite believe it. I can't wait to be back!"

Mark McMullan - BGT Finalist - to play Joseph on tour in Doncaster

Mark McMullan – a 2019 finalist on Britain's Got Talent 2019 – will play the lead in the tour of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat when it  visits Doncaster Dome for three weeks this Christmas from 18 December-4 January 2020.

The role represents McMullan's first major musical role, he is  best known for his performance ib the show of Bring Him Home from Les Misérables  on the TV show.

McMullan said of the role: "Being cast as Joseph in Bill Kenwright's record-breaking production is absolutely amazing! I grew up performing musical theatre and it really helped me find my voice as a singer and gave me the drive to pursue my passion."

Full cast announced for Joseph starring Sheridan Smith at the Palladium

Michael Harrison and the Really Useful Group have just  confirmed full casting for the 50th Anniversary production of  Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, following the previous announcements that Sheridan Smith will star as The Narrator, Jason Donovan will return to the show as Pharaoh, and Jac Yarrow will mark his professional debut as Joseph.

Michael Pickering will play Simeon and Richard Carson will be Reuben. Joining them will be Femi Akinfolarin/brother, Casey Al-Shaqsy/wife, JR Ballantyne/brother, Lydia Bannister/Swing & Dance Captain, Thalia Burt/wife, Michael Cortez/guard, Vanessa Fisher/wife, Ahmed Hamad/swing, Blythe Jandoo/swing, Matt Krzan/guard, Kelsie-Rae Marshall/wife, Billy Mitchell, Georgina Parkinson/wife, Emily Ann Potter/wife, Matthew Rowland/swing, Harriet Samuel-Grey/wife, Carl Spencer/brother, Joshua Steel/brother, Hannah Taylor/swing and Jack Wilcox/brother.

Jac Yarrow to play Joseph at Palladium

Arts Educational School's Jac Yarrow,  will play the tile role in the new West End production of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat joining  the already cast Sheridan Smith as the Narrator and Jason Donovan as Pharoah. Lloyd Webber and Rice had already told producer Michael Harrison,  that they wanted a 20-year-old ‘new discovery’ to play Joseph in Dreamcoat.

Jac is just 21 years old and comes from the village of Creigiau, near Cardiff. He came to everyone's attention when he stood out playing the lead role in Newsies at ArtsEd.  He has been given special dispensation by the College to begin rehearsing Joseph a month before his graduation date in June.  He was told he had won the role on his 21st birthday saying This is more than I can ever imagine. Let alone for my first job straight out of college, and to be working with Sheridan and Jason. It’ll be like a getting a masterclass.

Jason Donovan to play Pharoah in Joseph at the Palladium

Breaking news this morning is that Jason Donovan is playing the role of Pharoah in the 50th Anniversary production of Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice's Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat at the London Palladium this summer for an 11 week run. The re-imagined, brand new production  will play a strictly limited season from 27th June until 8th September.(Press Night: Thursday 11 July).

He is returning to the production 28 years after he played Joseph at the same venue.  As previously announced, Sheridan Smith is the Narrator.

Jaymi Hensley from Union J to lead cast in new Joseph tour

Jaymi Hensley, from X Factor boyband Union J is to play the lead role in Bill Kenwright's new touring production of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, which opens at the Theatre Royal Windsor on 20th February with Gary Lloyd providing some new choreography. He will be joined by Trina Hill/ Narrator, Andrew Geater/ Pharaoh,  Henry Metcalfe/Jacob with brothers Joshua Robinson, Callum Connolly, Alex Hetherington, Arthur Boan, Matt Jolly, Mikey Jay-Heath, George Beet, Lewis Asquith. Ed Tunningley and Corey Mitchell and handmaidens Amber Kennedy, Eve Norris and Gemma Pipe

This will be Jaymi's  first role in a major musical. Having risen to fame on The X Factor, Union J went on to have a top ten album and a major UK tour. Jaymi later appeared on a number of hit TV shows, including BBC1's Celebrity Masterchef.

Hensley  said: "I cannot describe how excited and honoured I am to be stepping into the prestigious coloured coat! When I think of iconic roles in musical theatre Joseph was always one that I dreamt of playing growing up!"

Casting for the new summer production at The London Palladium is to be announced.

Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat 50th Anniversary Production to run at Palladium next June

Baz has announced in today's Mail that a 50th Anniversary production of Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice's Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat is  heading to the London Palladium next summer for a limited 11-week  run from Wednesday 26th June  - Sunday 8th September. No  cast has yet been announced.

Michael Harrison will produce and direct the production.

Meanwhile there is a new Bill Kenwright tour of the production which opens at Windsor next February.

Lloyd Webber said:  it was "high time for another production of Joseph" and he decided to hand over to Harrison because  he’s busy on the Cats film, and workshop projects at the Other Palace Theatre.
