Rhinestone Mondays Tour to finish early and Steps reform

Following my recent blog that the tour of Rhinestone Mondays had cancelled its 2012 dates, the show's producers have now announced that the Country & Western musical comedy starring Lyn Paul and Shaun Williamson will play its final performance on 22nd October at Newcastle Theatre Royal.

The show had been rescheduled to run to 26th November at venues including Dartford, Coventry, Dundee, Dublin and Wimbledon.

The show's producers said: "We are devastated at having to take the decision to bring the tour of Rhinestone Mondays to a premature end, especially as we have such a wonderful cast and creative team who have given this show 1000% every night and audiences who have enthusiastically embraced us and taken us to their hearts.

We have fought hard to keep us from this point but despite our best efforts, we recognise that a new show is always a risk and unfortunately we are beginning to see that the prevailing economic conditions mean that people don’t always have the ability or economic confidence to support new work as they once might have done."

Ex Steps stars Faye Tozer and Ian Watkins also appear in the show and they have today appeared on ITV's This Morning to announce that the group is reforming …

Rhinestone Mondays Cancels 2012 Tour Dates

 The Country & Western compilation musical comedy Rhinestone Mondays is currently on a national tour to Southampton, Cardiff, Belfast, Newcastle, Dartford, Coventry, Dundee, Dublin and Wimbledon where it now ends instead of extending into 2012.  The February date at the Manchester Opera House has been pulled.

It stars former Steps members Faye Tozer and Ian 'H' Watkins alongside Shaun Williamson (Barry from EastEnders and Extras) and Lyn Paul (New Seekers and Mrs Johnston in Blood Brothers).

Lyn Paul to star in Rhinestone Mondays Country Musical

Rhinestone Mondays is a new Country & Western compilation musical comedy which will open at the Mercury Theatre Colchester on 31st August prior to a national tour to Wolverhampton, Edinburgh, Southampton, Cardiff, Belfast, Newcastle, Dartford, Coventry, Dundee, Dublin, Wimbledon and Manchester.

 It will star former Steps members Faye Tozer and Ian 'H' Watkins alongside  Shaun Williamson (Barry from EastEnders and himself in Extras) and Lyn Paul (New Seekers and Mrs Johnston in Blood Brothers) as members of the Warbleswick “Monday Night All Star Line Dancing Club” who fight, feud and fall in and out of love.

Written by Joe Graham and directed by Phil Wilmott, Rhinestone Mondays features a number of country hits by artists Billy Ray Cyrus, Patsy Cline, Tammy Wynette. Johnny Cash, Roy Rodgers and Glen Campbell including “These Boots Are Made for Walking”, “Crazy”, “Stand by Your Man”, “Ring of Fire”, “Achy Breaky Heart”, “Happy Trails” and “Rhinestone Cowboy”
