Annie Get Your Gun 75th Anniversary Concert

Annie Get Your Gun
is celebrating its 75th anniversary this year in  a new concert production for one night only at The London Palladium on 1st June 2022.

It will be led by Amber Davies (Bring It On) as Annie Oakley, Julian Ovenden (Downton Abbey) as Frank Butler and Trevor Dion Nicholas (Aladdin, Hamilton) as Buffalo Bill.

Irving Berlin's classic tells the fictional tale of the real-life sharp-shooter who falls for a star marksman. It includes numbers  "There's No Business Like Show Business" and "Anything You Can Do".

Produced by by Cuffe and Taylor and Lambert Jackson, this is first time the show has ever been seen in concert with further cast members and the creative team to be revealed

Full casting announced for Annie Get Your Gun at the Sheffield Crucible.

Updated 28th October: Sheffield Theatres has announced that its major new revival of Irving Berlin’s Annie Get Your Gun has extended its run for one week due to public demand, now closing on 21st January.

Annie Get You Gun will be directed by Paul Foster and open at the Sheffield Crucible  on 14th December (previews from 8th December) running until 14th January 2017.

Joining the previously announced Anna-Jane Casey as Annie Oakley and Ben Lewis as Frank Butler are Nicolas Colicos (Buffalo Bill), Mike Denman (Pawnee Bill), Lauren Hall (Winnie Tate), Matthew Malthouse (Foster Wilson), Timothy Quinlan (Charlie Davenport), Cleve September (Tommy Keeler), Maggie Service (Dolly Tate) and Karl Seth (Chief Sitting Bull).

Completing the ensemble are Josh Andrews, Ronan Burns, Emma Caffrey, Matthew Croke, Omari Douglas, Rosie Fletcher, Melissa James, Jasmine Kerr, Natasha Mould, Jak Skelly, Leah West and Emma Woods.

Choreography is by Alistair David with design by Laura Hopkins, musical direction by Paul Herbert, lighting by Natasha Chivers and sound by Nick Lidster.

Final Dates Cancelled of Annie Get Your Gun Tour

The tour of Annie Get Your Gun starring Jason Donovan Emma Williams and Norman Pace (as Buffalo Bill (until September) is due to end earlier than planned and will now finish at the Wimbleon Theatre on 13th September.

According to The Stage the producers (Ambassador Theatre Group and Tulchin/Bartner Productions) have cancelled The final two dates at Aberdeen His Majestys and Torquay Princess Theatre which is where it was due  to end on 4th October.

In a statement from the producers they said:  Despite encouraging ticket sales and every effort being made to try to safeguard this show for our audiences, the picture across the tour led the producers to make the decision to cancel the remaining performances.

Annie Get Your Gun Cast on The One Show Tonight

The cast of the tour of Annie Get Your Gun will be appearing on BBC's The One Show tonight between 7:00-8:00pm

The tour stars Emma Williams as Annie Oakley, Jason Donovan and Norman Pace (all pictured here), and kicks off at Manchester Opera House on 12th May before embarking on a UK countrywide tour until 4th October.

The show also stars Emma Williams (Chitty Chitty Bang Bang) as Annie Oakley and Norman Pace (Chicago) as Buffalo Bill (until September).

They are sharing the role of Frank Butler in the tour which starts at Manchester Opera House 12th May.

Jason Donovan, Jonathan Wilkes, Emma Williams and Norman Pace to star in tour of Annie Get Your Gun

Ambassadors Theatre Group (West Side Story and South Pacific) are producing a tour of the Tony award-winning version of Irving Berlin’s classic musical Annie Get Your Gun.

It stars Jason Donovan (The Sound of Music, Priscilla Queen of the Desert) as Frank Butler at certain dates with Jonathan Wilkes at the remainder. West End leading lady Emma Williams (Chitty Chitty Bang Bang) is Annie Oakley and Norman Pace (Chicago) as Buffalo Bill until September when he joins the cast of One Man Two Guvnors,

Saturday, January 2

West End Musicals Opening & Closing in January


On Saturday 2nd January the Menier Chocolate Factory production of La Cage Aux Folles starring Douglas Hodge closes at the Playhouse Theatre and transfers to Broadway where Kelsey Grammer (Frasier) joins the cast.

Dreamboats & Petticoats takes its place opening at the Playhouse Theatre on Wednesday 6th January. This show features some of the greatest rock and roll numbers from the 60s and was written by Laurence Marks & Maurice Gran (of Goodnight Sweetheart, New Statesman and Birds of a Feather fame).  It has already been in the West End and is returning following a successful UK tour. 

Legally Blonde the Musical opens at the Savoy Theatre on Wednesday 13th January.  It has been previewing and I have heard very good things about it. The cast includes Sheridan Smith, Duncan James, Aoife Mulholland, Peter Davison and Jill Halfpenny

Annie Get Your Gun starring Jane Horrocks closes at the Young Vic Theatre on Saturday 9th January
