Buddy - the Buddy Holly Story is going on a 25th anniversary tour opening at Cheltenham's Everyman Theatre on 4th September 2013 and then visiting Buxton Opera House (9th-14th September): HalifaxVictoria (16th-21st September): Inverness Eden Court (23rd-29th September): Aberdeen His Majesty's (20th September-5th October): King's Lynn Corn Exchange (8th-12th October): Swansea Grand (14th-19th October): Portsmouth King's (21st-26th October): Lowestoft Marina (28th October- 2nd November): Rhyl Pavilion (6th-9th November): Northampton Royal & Derngate (11th-16th November): Poole Lighthouse (18th-24th November): Watford Colossseum (25th -27th November) and Guildford G Live (28th-30th November) .
Buddy is about his rise to fame and his final performance at the Surf Ballroom in Clear Lake in Iowa before his tragic death in a plane crash at the age of 22. The show features Buddy Holly's greatest hits, including "That’ll Be The Day", "Peggy Sue", "Oh Boy" and "Rave On". Other songs include "Chantilly Lace" and "La Bamba".
Maria Elena Holly who is Buddy's widow says of the new tour: “When we opened the show we never imagined Buddy’s music and story would still be rocking stages and entertaining audiences around the world week-in week-out 25 years later. I believe this is testament to a great show – the first of its kind – and to the enduring appeal of Buddy Holly and what he represents; a youthful energy, huge talent and creativity, combined with a determination to make a lasting impression in this world."

The Buddy Holly Story at the Gatehouse
Buddy – The Buddy Holly Story is being staged at Upstairs at the Gatehouse in Highgate Village, North London. . It opens on 16 March (previews from 12th March) and runs until 18th April.
It features a cast of 12 actor-musicians, led by newcomer Roger Rowley as Buddy, and Jos Slovick (Spring Awakening), Henry Barrett (Crazy For You), Andrew Ashford, Emily Altneu, Jason Blackwater, Deanna Farnell, Sean Green, Richie Hart, Patrick Rowe, Nicky Swift and Alex Wadham.
The show is a tribute to rock 'n' roll singer Buddy Holly who died in a plane crash in 1959. it features some great numbers including That’ll Be The Day, Rave On, Peggy Sue, Chantilly Lace and La Bamba.
Buddy premiered at the Victoria Palace in 1989, before transferring to the Strand Theatre (now the Novello) in 1995. It closed there in 2002, returning to the Duchess five years later in 2007 and has continued to tour nationally and internationally since then.
