Theatre Royal, Stratford East has announced its new season, which features the return of Oh What a Lovely War for a limited run from 29 January to 7 February 2015 prior to a UK tour.

The show, which is 'true to the spirit' of Joan Littlewood's 1963
original production, is a musical entertainment focused around the First
World War.
General booking opens at 10:00 am on 7 July.

Oh What A Lovely War with Caroline Quentin on BBC Radio 2 Tomorrow Night

Tony Award winning director Terry Johnson's new production of "Oh What A Lovely War" from The Theatre Royal Stratford East where it ends on 15th March. It is the theatre
where it was created by Joan Littlewood and the Theatre Workshop half a
century ago. The ensemble includes Caroline Quentin with music directed by Mike Dixon.
The musical takes the form of an end of the pier Pierrot show with a series of popular songs of the period , "It's a Long Way to Tipperary," "Pack up Your Troubles", "Oh What A Lovely War" and "Keep the Home Fires Burning", interspersed with satirical sketches mapping out the progress of the war.

Caroline Quentin joins cast of Oh What a Lovely War
Theatre Royal Stratford East is presenting a revival of Joan Littlewood's satirical musical Oh What a Lovely War from 1st February - 15th March 2014.
It will be in the 50th anniversary year of the original production which premiered at Theatre Royal Stratford East on 19th March 1963 and will coincide with the 100th anniversary of World War I and is full of songs from that era.
Caroline Quentin will perform in the ensemble piece which will be directed by Terry Johnson and designed by Lez Brotherston. The cast will also include Alice Bailey-Johnson, Ian Bartholomew, Oliver J. Hembrough, Rebecca Howell, Tom Lorcan, Shaun Prendergast, Zoe Rainey, Kyle Redmond-Jones and Michael Simkins.
