Singin’ in the Rain in Concert

The Royal Festival Hall premiere the original film score of the MGM musical Singin' in the Rain in concert. John Wilson (BBC Proms) has reconstructed the score and joined forces with Kim Criswell to bring it to life on the Royal Festival Hall concert platform at 15:00 on Sunday 7th November 2010.

Kim Criswell narrates and plays the part of Lina Lamont in a story that has been described as Hollywood’s own autobiography at the end of the silent movie era. The romantic silent-film star and swashbuckling matinee idol Don Lockwood is played by Julian Ovenden and his ingĂ©nue girlfriend Kathy Selden by Annalene Beechey.

Jessie Buckley in Concert in Highgate

Jessie Buckley, who was a finalist in the BBC1 programme I’d Do Anything and has since been seen at the Menier Chocolate Factory's production of Sondheim’s A Little night Music and in concert at Pizza on the Park is performing her interpretation of the Great American Songbook at Lauderdale House in Highgate on Sunday 21st March.

She is supported by John Jack who has appeared in Shout! (Arts Theatre), Gay School Musical (Above The Stag Theatre) and As You Like It (Royal Lyceum Theatre) and the BBC series Still Game.

Zoe Tyler in Concert

For one night only Zoe Tyler is appearing in Concert back in her home town at the Alexandra Theatre in Birmingham at 20:00 on Sunday 27th June.

Zoe has a fantastic voice and started her singing career aged 20 when she joined the cast of Les Misérables, followed by a tour of Jesus Christ Superstar, then the award-winning City of Angels as part of the jazz singing quartet, the dance teacher in Fame and Grease: The School Musical.

Zoe Tyler is a recording artist and has sung with the likes of Michael Ball, Cliff Richard, Sir Elton John, Barry Manilow,  Donna Summer, Rod Stewart, Will Young, KD Lang and Bonnie Tyler. She is also a seasoned soloist with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra.

She is a vocal coach to young pop singers, and has pupils in numerous West End shows. Since April 2009 she has been coaching young contestants on the Disney Channel UK talent show My Camp Rock.

Zoe’s television appearances include being a judge and vocal coach on BBC 1's How Do You Solve A Problem Like Maria?  and Any Dream Will Do and in June 2007 she joined Loose Women on ITV, but has cut down on her shows because of other projects.

West End Performers in Concert for Haiti Earthquake Appeal

West End musical actors appear in concert performing Snappy Title: From the Heart which is a collection of songs selected from a variety of new musicals.

The concert will be  held at London's Pigalle Club on Sunday 21st February and the charity performance is in aid of the Haiti Earthquake Appeal and Mercury Musical Developments.

The performers who are all donating their time include Louise Dearman (soon to take over as Glinda in Wicked) and Sarah Lark (seen in the TV search "I'd Do Anything"), as well as Rob Archibald, Lucy May Barker, Gina Beck, Gerard Bentall, Richard Dempsey, Kirsty Hoiles, Cassidy Janson, Jon Lee, Jenna Lee James, Jeremy Legat, Lucy Mills, Martin Neely, Verity Quade and Jonathan Williams.
