Catherine Zeta-Jones & Angela Lansbury to lead Broadway Cast for “Night Music”

Trevor Nunn’s very popular revival of Stephen Sondheim’s “A Little Night Music” at the Menier Chocolate factory is heading for Broadway with a new all star cast including Catherine Zeta Jones (as Desiree Armfeldt ) and the grand diva of musical theatre Angela Lansbury playing Madame Armfeldt – the role played in London by Maureen Lipman.

Alexander Hanson is the only cast member making the transatlantic transfer where he will reprise his role as Fredrik Egerman.

“A Little Night Music” opens at Broadway's Walter Kerr Theatre on 13th December, with previews from 24th November.

Angela Lansbury is also rumoured to be making a return to London’s West End next year playing the uber-eccentric Madame Arcati in Noel Coward's “Blithe Spirit “ which is set to open at the Theatre Royal Haymarket.
