X Factor Finalist too Busy for Les Mis

Lucie Jones, aged 18, secured a place this weekend in the final stage of the X Factor competition. She will now go up against 10 other contestants in her bid to be crowned the winner with the prize of a £1m record contract.

On Saturday night Lucie sang “If I Were a Boy” by Beyoncé in an attempt to persuade judge Dannii and sister Kylie Minogue to choose her as one of the top three girls.

Lucie is already trying to get acting roles and has had a meeting with the casting director for a lead role new movie “Submarine” starring Michael Sheen.

And if that doesn’t work out, she has a foot in the door of musical theatre with Cameron Mackintosh being interested in seeing her for the role of Eponine in Les Misérables: but X Factor commitments meant she was unable to audition.

Mackintosh has stated an interest in now seeing her for a role in Oliver! – subject to X Factor allowing it
