Spice Girls – the Musical

Rumour has it that a Spice Girls musical is scheduled to make its West End debut in London next November.  It is reportedly called “Viva Forever” after their 1998 number one single and will include a number of their hits while telling the story of girl power and Geri Halliwell, Mel B, Victoria Beckham, Mel C and Emma Bunton’s rise to supstardom.

The show is being written by Kim Fuller who wrote the script for their movie Spiceworld.

Recent reports also suggest that the girls are planning to hold a talent search to find the cast for the musical. Geri Halliwell has had the biggest involvement so far in the project and plans to be executive producer of the stage show.

Mel C is currently playing to rave reviews  in Willy Russell's musical Blood Brothers at the Phoenix Theatre, London.

The Spice Girls last performed together in Toronto, Canada, in February 2008 and unknown sources have said that they are also planning a spectacular performance for the opening ceremony of the 2012 Olympics here in London.
