News of Dirty Dancing and Flashdance Casting

The very talented Charlie Bruce (pictured)  won BBC's So You Think You Can Dance earlier this year and may now be appearing in the West End.

Nigel Lythgoe and Arlene Phillips were on the judging panel and huge fans of Charlie, so it comes as no surprise that Arlene (who is the choreographer for Dirty Dancing and Flashdance in the West End) is considering her for the role of alternate Baby in Dirty Dancing at the Aldwych Theatre, and also considering her for the lead role in Flashdance, which opens at the Shaftesbury Theatre in September.

Lovely news for Victoria Hamilton-Barritt who was promised the lead in Flashdance following a very successful UK tour!!

She's only being "considered" and it's a lot for someone with no real musical theatre experience to take on. I saw Victoria on the tour and thought she was excellent. Rumour may just be PR exercise!
