Jessie Buckley to star in film Join My Band

Jessie Buckley is to star in her first film Join My Band which is a boy-meets-girl comedy about nerdy teenager Steve who falls in love with the new girl in school:  rebellious rock-chic Stella (played by Jessie). She is completely oblivious to his feelings, so Steve transforms his image to match hers and forms a punk-rock band.

But Stella isn't quite what she seems and the role called for the actress to be an accomplished classical Harpist.  The part could have been written for Jessie as mother is a professional concert harpist, and she been playing the Irish Harp since the age of 7, passing Grade 6 with flying colours! Join My Band has a soundtrack by jazz harpist and singer songwriter Lucinda Belle.

Jessie has recently appeared in concert at Pizza on the Park to rave reviews and is to perform live at the Delfont Room on Saturday 31st July 2010

Filming for Join My Band starts next month.
