Will Menier’s La Cage Aux Folles get Tony nomination?
The Tony Award nominations naming the best shows on Broadway will be announced later today at The New York Public Library for Performing Arts.
There is no one show that is a clear leader this year, but it is pretty certain that the Menier Chocolate Factory's pared-down production of "La Cage Aux Folles” starring Douglas Hodge and Kelsey Grammer will be named.
Also expected to be among the nominees are August Wilson's "Fences," starring Denzel Washington and Viola Davis, "Red" and "Next Fall” and the new musical "Memphis".
The Menier's next production is a world premiere of Paradise Found which has an American cast led by Mandy Patinkin and has been rehearing in New York. The Broadway legends Hal Prince and Susan Stroman are co-directing with the procution due to open later this month on 19th May.
