Tenor Alfie Boe (pictured) has just been interviewed on Michael Ball’s Sunday Brunch Radio 2 show and mentioned that as well as appearing as Jean Valjean in the one off 25th Anniversary Concert of Les Miserables at the 02 Arena in October, he will also be playing the part in a two week stint in Les Mis at the Queen’s Theatre in London’s West End in September, sharing the part with Simon Bowman who is currently playing the lead.
Rehearsals are already under way and he is finding working with Little Brittain’s Matt Lucas (who is playing Thenadier) difficult as he can’t stop laughing. The bargain scene which should have taken 30 minutes to rehearse took them 3 ½ hours!
