Full casting for Sondheim’s Into the Woods at Open Air Theatre

The full cast for Stephen Sondheim and James Lapine’s production of Into The Woods has now been announced.  The musical gives the stories of The Brothers Grimm a dark and humorous twist and the production is part of Sondheim’s 80th birthday celebrations. 

It is co-directed by Timothy Sheader and Liam Steel and runs at the Open Air Theatre in Regent’s Park from 11th August-11th September (previews from 5th August).

Leading the cast are Hannah Waddingham as the Witch, Jenna Russell as the Baker’s Wife and Mark Hadfield as the Baker. 

They are joined by Helen Dallimore (who originated the role of Glinda in the West End production of Wicked!) playing Cinderella, Michael Xavier (currently in Love Story at Chichester) Cinderella’s Prince/The Wolf,  Gaye Brown (Cinderella's Stepmother), Gemma Wardle (Cinderella's Mother), Beverly Rudd (Little Red Riding Hood), Alice Fearn (Rapunzel), Simon Thomas (Rapunzel’s Prince), Valda Aviks (Granny), Billy Boyle (Mysterious Man), Amy Ellen Richardson (Florinda), Ben Stott (Jack), Mark Goldthorp (Steward), Amy Griffiths (Lucinda) and Marc Antolin and Sophie Caton as Swings.
