Starke is probably bet known for playing Thomas "Sinbad" Sweeney in Brookside for 16 years.Since leaving the soap in 200 he has appeared in the Sunday night drama The Royal as Kenneth Hopkirk and as policeman Arthur in the film The 51st State.
In 2007 he joined Coronation Street as kebab shop owner Jerry Morton. He left the show in September 2008 and is about to share the role of Edna Turnblad with Michael Ball and Brian Conley in the UK tour of award-winning musical Hairspray.
