As already blogged, Ghost the Musical is heading for the West End next year. The creative team which includes Dave Stewart (ex-Eurythmics) and Glenn Ballard (six-time Grammy award winner producing artists such as Michael Jackson, Aerosmith, Van Halen and Alanis Morissette ) writing the score, Oscar winning Ghost screenwriter Bruce Joel Rubin and Tony award winning director Matthew Warchus are in talks about opening the show somewhere like Manchester Opera House for a couple of months next spring and then moving in into maybe the Piccadilly Theatre in London during the summer.
A major reason for an out of town opening is that the director and designer need time to iron out any wrinkles in the production which also contains magical illusions.
The film of the same name starred Patrick Swayze, Demi Moore and Whoopi Goldberg. Laura Michelle Kelly is due to play the Demi Moore role in the musical but all is in limbo until the theatres and dates are fixed.
The rumours that Ghost would be going into the Palace Theatre seem unfounded as already mentioned, a musical version of Daphne du Maurier's classic novel Rebecca could end up there.
