Nigel Planer in Doctor Who Live Tour

Casting has just been announced for the national tour of Doctor Who Live. Nigel Planer, star of the BBC's The Young Ones and musicals including We Will Rock You, Evita and Chicago will lead the cast as Vorgenson, who is described as an ‘inter-galactic showman’ who is the Doctor’s biggest fan.

The stage show will combine music and monsters following Vorgenson on an inter-galactic journey. TV Doctor Matt Smith will appear in specially filmed sequences to be projected on to a giant screen. Nick Briggs who is responsible for the voices of monsters including the Daleks and Cybermen will replicate his vocal talents live on stage every night and also portray Winston Churchill.

The Twins will be responsible for large scale stunts and illusions including a flying Dalek. The pair have recently designed the illusion of flying without wires and made an elephant disappear live on stage.

Doctor Who Live will play over 25 dates, starting at the Wembley Arena on 8th October then visiting Sheffield, Glasgow, Birmingham, Manchester, Nottingham, Cardiff, Liverpool and ending its run in Belfast on 7th November.
