Paul O'Grady is giving his alter ego Lily Savage a rare and final stage appearance in Aladdin – A Wish Come True at the Mayflower Theatre in Southampton this Christmas. The panto will be running from 10th December 2010-8th January 2011.
Appearing with Miss Savage will be Jon Lee as Aladdin, Darren Bennett as Abanazar and Marissa Dunlop as Princess Jasmine plus local radio journalist Shireen Jordan as Slave of the Ring.
Jon Lee came to fame in S Club 7 and has played Marius in the West End production of Les Misérables. He has also performed at the Edinburgh Festival in Teen Scream, toured the UK in Love Shack and been a guest star on various BBC Radio 4 concerts including such as The King and I starring Barbara Cook and Mame with Julia McKenzie
Darren Bennett has been touring the UK and Ireland playing Caractacus Potts in Chitty Chitty Bang Bang. Other musical theatre credits include Crazy For You, Singing in the Rain, Cats and Hot Shoe Shuffle.
Marissa Dunlop made her west-end debut at the age of 8 as the young Cosette in Les Miserables. Other West End credits include Ruby in Shout, Sandy in Grease, Pearl in Starlight Express, Serena in Fame, Martha Berelli in The Rat Pack and Young Jenny in Aspects of Love.
Marissa originated the role of Alma in Summer Holiday at The Winter Gardens, Blackpool and played Truly Scrumptious in the first UK tour of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang. Last Christmas she created the role of Chilli in Santa Claus and the return of Jack Frost at The Mayflower.
