The final week of the UK touring production of The Sound of Music has been cancelled at the Bournemouth Pavilion. It was due run there from September 22nd to October 9th, but will now finish on October 2nd.
The entertainments programming manager for the Bournemouth Pavilion said the final week had been axed after the show’s producers, David Ian Productions, informed him of a scheduling problem which meant they couldn’t do the final week.
One of the world’s best known musicals, the Sound of Music tour stars Michael Praed as Captain Von Trapp, Kirsty Malpass as Maria Rainer and Marilyn Hill Smith as Mother Abbess. Connie Fisher isn’t scheduled to play Maria at Bournemouth as she has taken a few weeks out from the show to get married.
The tour still has three more dates before it ends: Liverpool Empire 12th-30th October / Bristol Hippodrome 2nd November-4th December and Oxford, New Theatre 7th December-2nd January 2011.
