Me and My Girl revival at Sheffield Crucible

Jemima Rooper and Daniel Crossley are to star as Sally and Bill Snibson in a new version of Me And My Girl, which previews at Sheffield's Crucible Theatre on December 2nd and runs from 9th December-29th January 2011.

Daniel Crossley  has appeared in a number of musicals, including Chicago, Fosse, Hello, Dolly! and Bert in the UK tour of Mary Poppins.

Miriam Margolyes will play the part of the Duchess who is charmed by Bill.

Set in England in 1936 Me and My Girl tells the story of cockney charmer Bill Snibson who discovers he is the heir to a fortune. But will he choose a life of luxury rather than live happily ever after with his girl Sally?

The show's  music is by Noel Gay with lyrics by L Arthur Rose and Douglas Furber.  It was last revived  in London’s West End in 1984 by Stephen Fry with contributions by Mike Ockrent. The famous score includes The Lambeth Walk, The Sun Has Got Its Hat On and of course Me and My Girl.
