The Firework-Maker’s Daughter is an adaptation by Stephen Russell of Philip Pullman’s book about Lila who dreams of becoming a firework-maker but her hoped are dashed when her father tells her it is no job for a girl.
So she sets off for Mount Merapi in search of the elusive royal sulphur and faces pirates and supernatural creatures until Chulak arrives to help her with Hamlet the elephant.
But she has to return to save her imprisoned father with a firework display that must rival the best on earth!
The Birmingham Stage Company (producers of Horrible Histories, Why the Whales Came and Skellig (transferring to Broadway) bring you this story from the author of The Golden Compass.
