The award-winning musical Spring Awakening is doing a UK tour next year starting in May. This follows a successful run on Broadway and at the Novello Theatre in London’s in the West End. The show won four Olivier awards in London and a Tony award for the Broadway production.
Spring Awakening is about a group of 19th century German students who are on a journey of self discovery. It is all about adolescence and set to a soundtrack of rock and roll music by Duncan Sheik.
The tour dates are: Northcott Theatre, Exeter 17-21 May: Pleasance Theatre, Edinburgh (24-25 May): Macroberts Centre, Stirling (26-28 May): Greenwich Theatre, London (7-12 June): Lowry, Salford (14-15 June) and Norwich Playhouse (17-18 June).
It will be directed by Pip Minnithorpe and choreographed by Cressida Carre .
