Hannah Waddingham frightening the Munchkins in The Wizard of Oz

According to an interview in today’s Sunday Express with choreographer Arlene Phillips, the Wicked Witch of the West played by Hannah Waddingham in Andrew Lloyd Webber’s new musical The Wizard of Oz is causing a mutiny among the Munchkins.

Apparently some of the children playing the roles of the vertically challenged Munchkins are refusing to appear because the realism of the show is too much and they are they are frightened of the Wicked Witch.

Sounds like a few “tweaks” are needed to tone it down a bit ...
