John Barrowman replacing Nigel Lythgoe on So You Think You Can Dance Tonight

Head honcho Nigel Lythgoe has commitments on American Idol which prevent him heading the judging panel on So You Think You Can Dance tonight so John Barrowman is to step in as a guest judge on the show which airs on BBC1 at 5:35 pm with the results show at 7:30 pm.

Arlene Phillips will be promoted to head judge for this week as the 10 remaining dancers are put through their paces with Lythgoe returning on May 28th.

Barrowman has already appeared as a guest judge in the current service at the “choreography camp” stage. He said “I can’t wait to come back and see how they have improved and developed as performers. It’s going to be great now it’s down to the top 10 dancers – the competition is getting hotter.”

Lythgoe is soon to launching another series of SYTYCD Dance in the US and added: “I will be watching them dance for their lives from LA. I have no doubt John will bring his incredible pedigree to the panel and keep the dancers on their toes.”
