Kerry Ellis, Daniel Boys & Jonathan Williams starring in Godspell Concert

The Palace Theatre in Manchester is presenting a one off concert version of the musical Godspell to celebrate its 40th Anniversary. It will star Kerry Ellis and takes place on 21st October 2011.

LATEST NEWS 2nd August:  Daniel Boys and Jonathan Williams (alernate Jean Valjean in LesMis) have joined the cast.  Daniel will play Judas and Jonathan will play Jesus.

"staring Kerry Ellis" funny I thought this was an ensemble piece with the only standout really being Jesus... Oh the power of being a big name!

Agree with you. But as I'm sure you know Kerry has enormous following who will travel to Manchester to see the show. It's that old bums on seats thing again ....

Yes, I know several who have already booked! I find it quite depressing really... Saw a fabulous production of this at the Union Theatre recently which pretty much sold out WITHOUT the use of a "bums on seats name"

I saw the production at the Union as well and loved it. But suspect the Manchester production will be mega-expensive to stage and need a name to be able to charge high seat prices to recoup the costs.
