Alfie Boe is appearing as Jean Valjean in Les Miserables at the Queen’s Theatre in London’s West End until 26th November. He also has a new album out entitled “Alfie” on 31st October.
His Bring Him Home Concert Tour starts on 6th December and continues until the start of February, and just in case that wasn’t enough to keep him busy he is also writing his autobiography “Alfie” which is scheduled for publication in Autumn 2012.
Simon and Schuster have acquired world rights to his story which will offer an intimate account of Alfie’s childhood as the youngest of nine children in the north of England, being talent-spotted while working as a car mechanic, playing Broadway and launching a career in musical theatre playing Jean Valjean.
Alfie Boe said “My book will give an insight into how it all began from childhood days in Lancashire to my time in London, trying to make my way as a singer. It will talk of the people who inspired me and maybe touch a little bit on the harder times of my life. There’ll be a lot of laughter and also some gritty tales of which all have added to the wrinkles or laughter lines around my eyes”.
