Peter Lockyer taking on role of Jean Valjean in LesMis

Daniel Koek is due to leave the cast of Les Miserables at the Queens' Theatre on  14th June with American actor and singer Peter Lockyer taking on the lead role of Jean Valjean from the 16th.

Peter Lockyer Peter made his Broadway debut in the Dutch production of Cyrano the Musical.

He has played Jean Valjean in the 25th Anniversary Tour of Les Miserables visiting over 50 cities in North America. He has also played Chris in Miss Saigon both on Broadway and  the First National Tour and  was Marius in the 10th Anniversary production of Les Miserables on Broadway.

Other musical theatre credits include  Rodolfo in Baz Luhrmann’s  La Boheme: theLincoln Center Theatre’s revival of South Pacific: Broadway’s The Phantom of the Opera and one of the Broadway guest stars in Barbra Streisand's  first European Concert tour. On TV Peter played Yonkers in the CBS telefilm Gypsy, starring Bette Midler.
