Breaking news from Baz in today's Mail is that Sheridan Smith is to star as the narrator in the 50th Anniversary production of Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice's Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat at the London Palladium this summer for an 11 week run from 27th June until 8th September (press night 11th July ). The re-imagined, brand new production will be directed Laurence O'Connor with JoAnn M Hunter providing choreography and set and costume design by Morgan Large.

Sheridan Smith is returning to the West End for the first time in three years having earned Olivier Awards for her turns in Legally Blonde: The Musical and Flare Path, with nominated performances in Little Shop of Horrors and Funny Girl. Her other stage credits include Into the Woods, The Taming of the Shrew, A Midsummer Night's Dream and Tinderbox: a Revenge Comedy. She is shortly starring opposite Stephen Merchant in a new BBC drama The Barking Murders
