Sheridan Smith to star as narrator in 50th Anniversary production of Joseph at the Palladium

Breaking news from Baz in today's Mail is that Sheridan Smith is to star as the narrator in the 50th Anniversary production of Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice's Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat at the London Palladium this summer for an 11 week run  from 27th June until 8th September (press night 11th July ). The re-imagined, brand new production will be directed Laurence O'Connor with  JoAnn M Hunter providing choreography and  set and costume design by Morgan Large.

Sheridan can remember her parents saving up so she could go on a school trip to see Phillip Schofield play Joseph at the Palladium
and is said to be excited by planned comedic changes saying:  “For me it’s the most nostalgic show.”

Her other stage credits include Into the Woods, The Taming of the Shrew, A Midsummer Night's Dream and Tinderbox: a Revenge Comedy. She is shortly starring opposite Stephen Merchant in a new BBC drama The Barking Murders
