Susan Boyle in Tour of I Dreamed A Dream

Britain’s Got Talent Susan Boyle will be making guest appearances on an 11 week tour of the musical about her life storyI Dreamed a Dream -  which opens at Newcastle Theatre on 23rd March next year and visits Aberdeen, Bradford, Liverpool, Dublin, Bristol, Southend, Cardiff, Birmingham, Inverness and Manchester where it ends on 23rd June.

This will be Susan’s first performance on the UK stage since the 2009 Britain's Got Talent tour. She said: "I am thrilled to be a part of the musical about my life story and very much looking forward to stepping on stage and performing with the cast. It is an honest portrayal of my life and has been a cathartic process to be involved in."

Taking the lead role of Susan Boyle is Elaine C Smith (Calendar Girls and Mary Doll in Rab C Nesbitt). She said: "It's obviously an amazing challenge as a performer to be asked and involved in a project as fantastic as this. There's a lot of pressure to get it accurate and to honour Susan's life story but to do it in a way that is funny, moving and magical and, as the writers, producers and performers, we're doing our best to achieve that. We've been working towards this for the last 18 months but it's now really exciting to see the whole thing come to fruition and to be working with Susan on such a wonderful event."

Even More Dreams Coming True for Susan Boyle

The West End cast of Les Miserables were in the TV studio yesterday singing alongside Britain's Got Talent star Susan Boyle for her forthcoming TV Special I Dreamed a Dream – The Susan Boyle Story which goes out this Sunday, 13th December at 9.30 pm on ITV.

She was moved to tears when she saw the cast in full costume ready to sing "One Day More".  Les Miserables is playing at the Queen's Theatre and the current cast includes Simon Bowman as Jean Valjean, Hans-Peter Janssens (Javert), Rebecca Seale (Fantine), Alistair Brammer (Marius), Emily Bull (Cosette).Nancy Sullivan as Eponine.

And if that wasn’t enough to tip her over the edge, SuBo was then given the opportunity to sing with her all time idol Elaine Paige.  The duet of “I Know him So Well” was kept a secret from Miss Boyle until shortly before the performance, and again the Britain’s Got Talent performer was overcome with emotion.
