Newcomer George Blagden has joined the star-studded cast of the Les Miserables film which director King's Speech Tom Hooper is pulling together. It includes Hugh Jackman as Jean Valjean, Russell Crowe as Javert, Sacha Baron Cohen as Thernardier, Eddie Redmayne as Marius, Aaron Tveit as Enjolras, Amanda Seyfried as Cosette, Samantha Barks as Eponine, Anne Hathaway as Fantine and Helena Bonham Carter as Madame Thenardier.
Blagden will play Grantaire and is a newcomer to film and has just finished shooting on the indie The Philosophers and can be seen next in Wrath of the Titans starring Liam Neeson.
Blagden attended Guildhall School of Music & Drama and has been a singer since he age of 13 at Oundle's Stahl Theatre with roles including Marc in ART and The Baker in Sondheim's Into the Woods. Last September he appeared in Opening Doors: a selection of new musical theatre writing at the Soho Theatre in London.
